Welcome to a new season of Fashion Week in Milan! Today has started the Fall/Winter 15 MFW. Here for you a sum up of the first day and the main brands. Hope you’ll enjoy.
12:30 – Stella Jean
As the last collection of hers, Spring/summer, this autumn/winter reflects perfectly the though of the young Himalayan talent Stella and her will of representing the multi-cultured and colorful new century with all those ethnical patterns, astonishing colors and amazing fabrics.
Not so impressed as the last one but I have to say she did a really great job! Well done Stella!
15:00 – Gucci
Less python than the last time, good thing that, and a 68 youth spirit’s revolution atmosphere breathed. Too many nipples but in memory of good 70’s it can be fair. Some goods and some bads, for example the men’s inspired pants are simply not wearable and don’t fit into the category “sexy” or also the kind of inspired military jacket, more similar to a nazi’s coat than a feminine or even heterogeneous coat. Some joy for the super elegant plissé’s dresses, one semi transparent and leathered, the other oriental’s inspired, both at the same time chic and sexy.
16:00 – Fay
This catwalk can be described as really classy, sober, dark shaded (weren’t they maybe inspired by a famous new movie of this year? just saying…). Think of a college girl mixed to a super elegant young girl, a Blair Waldorf mixed to a Christian Grey, this would be this winter Fay’s collection. Here some shots.
17:00 – Alberta Ferretti
I’m speechless as always by Alberta’s collection, she is by far one of my favorites. Some romantic dresses that are part of her essence mixed to modern and tradition were the show of today. She introduced some traditional dresses from different countries, ones made me think of japanese geishas with the way they were cute and the flower typical prints, and others of nordic women with those large blouses under deep necklines. One even made me though of a Victorian dress revisited.
18:00 – N°21
Not all the pieces were extraordinary but I admired some masterpieces of craftsmanship and I am speechless of how beautiful they looked. The white dress with all the layers, the meticulous cure of details was splendid. Others simple but really wearable like the grey coat.
20:00 – Francesco Scognamiglio
Remember those incredible, romantic and flawless dresses from the previous collection? Here is the 2.0, the remake of the successful collection and how to destroy the mythical dream. It seems that he took the same drawings and decided to remove all the superficial parts, for example the only laces that happened to cover a little bit more the model’s intimate parts. From dream to nightmare in six months. Bravo !
And what is with your dresses? Is it a ready-to-wear collection or an underwear’s one ? Just saying. It seems that this disaster was a poor attempt of distracting from the terrible make-up, or we don’t have to wonder why the models have cried and their mascara has drown. Oh and I suggest not to pick your grandma’s lingerie as inspiration the next time.
From this to this…
